Games thread!

They were complaining ahead of the whole show there was nowhere for the story to go because we knew how it turned out. They were wrong. I agree that I think thematically they tied everything up in a nice bow, and that it being one season only has made it something special, but there are absolutely ways to tell a new dramatic story too. Just knowing where the story ends doesn't mean you can't find fun on the journey also.

I'm not sure I understand your point!

I'm glad it wasn't just me. I can't parse this at all, I thought it was just because it is midnight and I need bed that it didn't make sense. I apologise in advance if this doesn't make sense either.

I do want another season, telling a different story. But yes, you can tell stories even when you know the final outcome. How would we have prequels otherwise?

Nonfiction topics

What nonfiction topics interest you? Whether you read books about it in your spare time, hunt for websites, listen to podcasts or whatever. Just, topics that you like learning more about.

I've been super interested in volcanoes and Tsarist Russia since I was a kid. Also space-related things, especially other planets. And anything about cats, whether domestic or wild. And penguins.

Oh, and mythology. Especially non-Greek/Roman/Norse ones that are less well-known.

Is this about Star Wars fandom?

Honestly 9/10 when I see someone complaining about 'bad writing' it isn't actually bad... the story just didn't unfold like that fan, or group of fans, wanted. But a lot of people are pretty shit at being able to tell the difference between the two yet are so very vocal about it.

I love everything I read about Ancient Egypt. That place is just wild.

Ancient Egypt really is fascinating.

Or even historical dramas. Did they complain that there was no point watching Titanic or Apollo 13 because we already knew how it was going to end? Because the box office numbers say otherwise.

Yup. I get that for some people surprise is everything, though in that case I'm not sure why they'd even ever rewatch media. But that isn't true for many people.
