Biden's response hasn't been great, necessarily, but he has little responsibility for this. To the extent that Democrats bear responsibility, it mostly lies with Clinton (Hillary), Bader-Ginsburg, and Obama.

I don't want to be that person but the fact is this was done by the Supreme Court with THREE Trump appointees. THREE!!!

It wouldn't have taken that many votes in swing states in 2016 to prevent that happening. Hillary Clinton sucks, but as President she definitely would NOT have appointed Kavanaugh, Gorsuch or Coney Barrett.

I blame the people who didn't vote in 2016 when it mattered most. If you know recent electoral history (80s onward) you know how important the Supreme Court is, and how it's the greatest power a President has, to make lifetime appointments that will outlive them.

+1000

I don't think I'll ever stop being angry at what happened in 2016.

A bunch of people, who all still voted Democrat, told Hillary she would not be able to win an election and she still ran. It predates the election, and it is the fault of Hillary for running when she was told by democrat voters that she could not win and ran anyway. A bad candidate losing is not the fault of the voters in a democracy, it is the fault of the candidate for winning. She was told that her candidacy would maximize and energize the Republican electorate, but she still chose to run. Because "it was [her] time". If you knew anything about politics, 80s onward, you'd know that she could never have won.

So, yeah, you be that person all you want, but you are still wrong. It was her fault. She gambled with those three seats as hostages and lost, as she was told she was going to do. If she truly believed the loss of those seats were an intolerable risk, she'd never have gambled them away like that. We warned her, she did not warn us.

Does she finances the party? The dicision shouldn't have been on her in the first place. If I said I wanted to run for it no one would let me. It's not on her, it's on the people that let her run.

The reason that Hillary Clinton (and her clique) bear responsibility is because they lost the 2016 election. If they hadn't lost the 2016 election, they would have won it. It was a very close election and it's entirely reasonable to think that a better-run campaign, or a different candidate, could have resulted in a victory. To the extent that it did not result in a victory, Clinton - as the person in charge of the campaign - must bear some responsibility. Political parties have power and influence. Part of their job is to persuade voters and ultimately win elections. When they fail to do so, it is often the result of mistakes and poor decisions.

I remain baffled by this view that the Democratic Party has no agency, no function, no purpose, and is effectively an empty vessel for everyone to vote for every 2 to 4 years, the responsibility for doing which lies entirely with the voters and which the party has no influence at all over. It's complete nonsense. If the Democratic Party fails to win an election, it's as much their fault as it is the fault of the voters.

Oh just admit that you helped get Trump elected because your fee-fees were more important than keeping people from getting killed and do better next time.

I voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016 and Joe Biden in 2020.

The underlying narrative here is fucking bizarro-world shit and the aggressive insistence on attacking anyone who points out that the Democratic Party has failed in significant ways is useless, unjustifiable and deeply offputting.
