(AYRT) Ohh, "white" . Okay then. I was rescuing myself since you called me "not a fan" for not enjoying fanfic much. You never mentioned fanart though. And what about people who do things like translating, coloring/graphic editing, video editing, fanmixes - is that not fandom, too? I used to do a lot of that. Nowadays I feel like an untalented bum and pretty much only discuss meta and collect/share pictures though.

Not sure about you but I don't enjoy reading or writing in a foreign language that much, tires me out. At least for commercial works I don't have to think "is this written correctly?".

Fanart and fanvideos are the same as fics in my opinion. *shrug* I don't have a fandom at the moment so I casually post and repost pictures and reactions to some asian TV series I'm watching at the moment. I also help people in my old fandoms a bit with photoshop and other design. I consider myself fandomless atm.

My original post was about people imposing their so called 'normal' views on fandom communities and making it harder for me personally to know if it's save to squee around them. People are diferent and many think doll collecting and following UK royalty is being in a fandom. I'm not equating your experience to those fringe casses btw.

I learned English through fics.
