honestly, what bothers me more about it isn't the judges that do this (I say as I'm bingeing Guy's Grocery Games and there's this one guy who does these stupid fakeouts and it sticks out because he's the only one who does it while everyone else is genuine and comforting) but the people in the audience who eat it up and fall for it every time, willfully believing that it's real and not just a schtick. The judges do the fakeouts for these people and that's the real gross bit. Those are the kind of people who believe in Qanon and other shit. We don't need to pander to them any longer, please fucking stop feeding into delusions.

Eh, it can be annoying and predictable, but finding it rude seems like a bit of an overreaction, in my opinion.

I hate it too. I don't watch those shows very often, but they always put those moments in the promos, like that's going to entice me to watch.
