I've never read the sentence "steampunk antis" ever in my life, and I'm genuinely intrigued about what it could be referring to exactly and/or why people would be against steampunk. Is it anti-shippers into steampunk or people that are against steampunk?? I assume it's people against steampunk, but steampunk anti-shippers is also a possibility, depending on what fandom this is about. My brain hurts.

Semipro fandom goes back a long, long, long, long way and I really cannot bring myself to have a problem with it. I don't think that it's fair to say that it makes you a parasite. Just because someone is making money from fandom, it doesn't mean that their motives are purely mercenary and unfannish. The two things can coexist.

50 Shades of Gray is fanfiction written by woman... OP seems like a type of person to clap for Karine Jean-Pierre despite the disaster that were her news conferences.
Most of published SH fanfics were written by men because those books are old and more male writers published. They should be free domain now I think.

Petty fandom annoyances

In my current main fandom, I ship A/B, who are by faaaaar the most popular pairing. There are a handful of others that fic/art exist for, but people have never talked about them much. But recently, C/D has started to become super popular and they're pretty much all the fandom wants to talk about these days. I still love A/B and have zero interest in C/D. I really dislike both C and D but both characters are extremely popular for reasons that I don't get at all and I'm really annoyed they're taking all the attention away from A/B. I wish they'd both leave the show, honestly.

This is first time I've ever been so annoyed by a pairing that didn't interfere with my ship and I really don't get it. I realize how stupid this is (and before anyone says it, no, I'm not going around telling C/D fans that their ship sucks or anything like that because that would be mean and immature but I just really, really don't like the ship.)
