While I agree, I would like to point out that there are apparently a ton of published unofficial sequels to Pride and Prejudice and probably other Austen novels, too, and I'm willing to bet most of those were written by women, so women can get paid for their fic as well. I think the trick to getting paid is not to have a penis but to write your fic about something that's out of copyright and not owned by a media company.
