I recently nearly threw a book across the room because I thought it was turning into SH vs the Ripper. Let those poor women rest in peace, ffs! It turned out not to be... and then the sequel just mentioned in passing that he'd dealt with the Ripper. So I'm not bothering with any more by that author.
