This, honestly. If an OC is developed well, and works with the rest of the story without overpowering/ignoring everything and everyone else (overpower in this case means putting all the focus on them without a real reason besides WOW LOOK THIS CHARACTER IS SPECIAL, DO YOU SEE HOW SPECIAL THEY ARE, but it could apply to people who are ridiculously overpowered without a reason too), then I'm fine with OCs. Make me give a shit about them, don't just shoehorn them in and act like everyone is supposed to love them right off the bat, or that they're amazing characters by virtue of existing. And it's not even enough that they exist "a certain way," they should be written in a manner that's respectful so that they properly fit in with the rest of the story.
