I think people overstated how sexist FIM fandom was, but understated the “ironic” racism, unironic monarchism, and spillover military fetishism from Spacebattles.com.

Nah, Spacebattles has a festering sump flavor all of its own. That particular brand of infection is unique.

There IS an overlap between “this is what’s wrong with /d/“ and “this is what’s wrong with Spacebattles.” The overlap is called Questionable Questing. (Honestly, I think the differing flaws balance out somewhat.)

MLP's fandom was annoying as fuck, posting ponies anywhere and everywhere for no reason at all. It was the ultimate spam fandom.

The Steven Universe fandom had some of the meanest people I've ever seen online. Just pure malice the way some fans would go at other fans' throats for shipping the wrong ship.
