I think people overstated how sexist FIM fandom was, but understated the “ironic” racism, unironic monarchism, and spillover military fetishism from Spacebattles.com.

Nah, Spacebattles has a festering sump flavor all of its own. That particular brand of infection is unique.

There IS an overlap between “this is what’s wrong with /d/“ and “this is what’s wrong with Spacebattles.” The overlap is called Questionable Questing. (Honestly, I think the differing flaws balance out somewhat.)
