I get not being able to hold other people up all the time, but I figure if a friend was being really draining on you that would have been the case before a diagnosis. If they weren't draining before then a diagnosis shouldn't change that and you should give them a chance like you might someone who wants to talk about their new puppy or whatever has just changed their life and see if they settle down. (If they do suddenly start trying to drain you then yep, dump 'em.)
