Problematic bullshit aside, I don't think Dawson is a good Ahsoka.

I think part of that is that the writing in Mando/BoBF her as a very different character than the one we last saw in Rebels.

It's not that, I just...see Dawson. I don't see Ahsoka. It's like Dawson is doing Ahsoka cosplay while visiting SDCC or something.

Do you think Ashley Eckstein would have done better? I saw a LOT of people mega pissed that she wasn't even given a chance to audition for the part, especially given how the VA for Bo Katan got to play the live action part.

Not particularly.

Eckstein looks less like Ahsoka than Dawson, and Dawson at least had a little bit of action roles thanks to Sin City and Daredevil. She still just looks like Dawson in Ahsoka paint to me. *shrug*

It could just be a case of the character not translating well into live action. I never really liked the character until the last few seasons of Clone Wars, and I love Rebels. Her stand alone novel was boring.
