I feel kinda lucky that I've never encountered these people 'cause that sounds exhausting as hell. Plus getting stuff recommended by an algorithm doesn't always work. Nothing that Goodreads has recommended to me has been to my liking.

Goodreads recs are weird. Sometimes they are logical - yes, people who like C. S. Forester like Patrick O'Brian - and sometimes they are completely out of left field.

Goodreads never seems to take into account whether I liked the book or not. Ten years ago I read a book from Author X that I gave 2 stars, so naturally I must be interested in Author X's new novel!!
