what is yours?

I've been trying to book a vacation for Santorini next year, and everywhere is just out of budget. Not massive amounts out of budget to make it worth giving up, but just tantalisingly close, a couple of hundred, out of reach. Just enough to make it almost be feasible, but not quite. That is the bit that hurts.

Don't go to Santorini. Go to Crete or Corfu or even Mykonos. By next year Chinese tourists will be back in droves and you'll spend your Santorini vacation wondering why you did this to yourself.

I've been trying to find a Suzuki GSX750S Katana, the bike with the flip up headlamp, for sale and there are none. Last year, when I didn't have the money available for one, there were loads for sale. This year the supply seems to have dried up.

I've been trying to find an old episode of a TV show. It's not on Netflix, Hulu, Vampire, any official TV channel websites, or (as far as I can tell) any maybe-legal sites. All I can do is wait and pray. And I'm not patient or religious.

I’m downsizing my collection to make it more manageable and a lot of stuff just isn’t moving. I can’t decide if I should just price things super low to get it out of my house or just box it all up and try to sell again in December.

I have a stupid stupid stomach bug. I've cleared my schedule for the next two days, so if I'm lucky, I can look forward to doing squat.

My father right now showed how mushroom he cooked changed the color saying how usually it doesn't do it. On my suggestion that he probably shouldn't eat it he said that he is going to. Frankly I am amazed that he is even alive.

My rabbits keep sitting on my vents, so I can't get hot/cool air. :D

...Okay serious answer of the moment: It is a beautiful day and I can't go for a walk or anything - because it was also a beautiful day yesterday so I pushed myself to do all the things I really wanted to do this weekend, overworked myself, and now am dizzy being on my feet for a few minutes. And also I can't think of anything I want to do while lying in bed with feet elevated, except write fic that's almost certainly going to be jossed a week from now.

I may try to take a walk anyway because I hate my body and don't give a crap about being kind to it.

Eh, fuck being jossed, write it anyway.

My parents brought the big C back home from a trip and even though we're all wearing masks around each other, I feel it's only a matter of time until I get it because I drove them and a friend of theirs (who very likely is the person who infected them) home from the airport and I can't completely avoid them at home.

Also, my mother wanted to go to some lecture about inheritance this wednesday and I agreed to go with her. Now she obviously won't be able to go and she told me "oh you can go on your own" and like... any other time sure, but I think it's a huge dick move to go when I could very well have caught it by the too. I really don't want to pass it on to anyone else. She doesn't see the problem though. Ugh.

I'm so sorry. My parents gave it to all my siblings who still live with them. Wild that you're in it. Try your best to keep masking, ventilate as much as you can, stay away from your parents/shared spaces as much as possible. And I agree you shouldn't go to that event. Your mom is tripping.

I said on Twitter (in a thread about rapists and abortion) that I would vote for (VOTE FOR, not carry out, or threaten with, just VOTE FOR) chemical castration of all these guys who (so said a politician) just have a little 'self control' issue.

Twitter banned me for SIX DAYS. Wth. While MTG, et al, go merrily on with death threats and whatnot. Fucking ridiculous.

Oh - one other vent. I asked a question on Amazon about a zipper hoodie (does the hoodie shrink but not the zipper, making it all wavy and bumpy), and someone replied 'I haven't had it long enough to wash it yet'.

I have Covid. Bonus Covid, even (second time getting it). The enforced vacation from work is nice but the brain fog, coughing, and aches are not so great.

I've had arthritis in my knees for about two years now and it fucking hurts when I walk or stand for a long time. Cortisone shots and months of PT help somewhat but don't totally get rid of it.
Also, I think there are now like about fifty foods I loved at Trader Joe that they discontinued.

My period showed up after being 16 days late and it is kicking my ass. I've also got a terrible headache and I don't want to go to work tomorrow.

I usually buy a box of Count Chocula every October for the art variants but this year's box design was so ugly that I had to settle for Boo Berry. It's the first year Boo Berry has ever had a better design then Count Chocula, wtf.

i just had my long ass 3 week vacation and am due to return to work tomorrow... only that i have caught a bad cold and will have to call in sick :(
it's not covid - tested negative on 2 different at home Tests, so it's just a regular cold i seem to hsve picked up during my vacation. probably from the peoples wet coughs on the trains (unmasked ofc). smh.

I need to register to an exam I need for job hunting (I'm trying to switch career and I'd prefer to have a specific certification to put on my CV), but the registration URL is still down.
It should've been up since 8AM this morning, but it's 12.30 where I live and it's still down :/// The exam has a cap so I need to register as soon as it opens, hence the continue F5s and anxiety.
Fuck this country (not from USA). This is the 3rd time it happens to me THESE LAST TWO MONTHS.

Found a new fandom. Lots of fic to dive into! Yay!
But I've discovered that ALMOST EVERY SINGLE ONE of the "Big Name" fic-writers in this fandom CANNOT COPY-EDIT FOR SHIT. It's beyond just "spelling and grammar". It's ... whole words missing. Words that just vaguely sound like other words. It's completely BAFFLING to me how ANYBODY (let alone hundreds of like-ers and commenters and kudos leavers) can get through even a few paragraphs of this stuff. And, you know, if they were the ONLY writers available, I'd get it. If it were even a case of, "we overlook the flaws because the story is so awesome," I'd get it. But they all have comments about what "very good" writers they are, and how "well written" the fics are. Some are even repeatedly called "poetic" by articulate comment writers who clearly CAN write things.
What the fucking fucking fuck is the fandom smoking? I shouldn't complain TOO much because there ARE good writers in the fandom, too, it's just so hard to FIND them because all the rec-list are clogged with "Read this! It's so well written!" leading to fics so poorly done that, in most fandoms I've been in, they'd have received, at best, a gentle suggestion to get a beta reader. I seriously wish I had an "Authors you do NOT want to see" filter.
