Takahashi was an awesome writer, but she was a limited one. If you didn't like comedic, wacky, misunderstandings and comedy fights, then you were out of luck. If you did, they were gold. To me, she's gold.

I mainly really loathe the "violence is funny when it's female on male" trope that is just such an overdone constant in all her stories and especially her romantic couples. Hate it. And her romances are just not my cup of tea, for me they range from just bland and boring to downright creepy.
