Basically, as you age, the brain stops handing out the dopamine for learning something new (learning meaning any new experience, not just what we consider knowledge learning), and starts handing out the dopamine hits for when we encounter something familiar. That is the teal deer version.

(Anonymous) 2022-10-09 12:00 pm (UTC)(link)IMHO I believe that rewatching movies/TVshows is more a "I'm too stressed out and/or tired to deal with new stories / cliffhangers / drama I don't know the resolution of" than simply getting older.
