Hm, I have two notions of 'fucked up' I think.

One where it's a piece of media exploring some kind of social taboo or issue: rape/incest/abuse/manipulation/etc, but it's not necessarily done to titillate or kink on it, it's more an exploration of the topic and I can find those fascinating in a morbid way.

But my 'this is fucked up I hate it' line is when most of those things above are treated as fetish fodder and not the horrific things they are. Rape especially is fucking awful to deal with in media because so much of it is filmed in a way that's meant to be appealing to men and that's just... erugh, nope, fuck off with that shit.

But things like excessive gore don't even register as overly fucked up to me 9/10 because honestly a lot of really gory films come off as very juvenile with how they present it so my brain checks out at taking them seriously. Like I really like the first Saw movie because it's not relying on gore(it's there but it's not The Point if you get me), it's more fucking with the heads of the characters, but the sequels devolved into snuff movies which I found boring and childish.
