Question for fellow pet guardians

Do you do birthdays for your pets? Trying to start a birthday tradition for my kitty. We don't know her birthday, but I'm making it November 15, the day she came into my life.

What sorts of things do you do, if you do birthdays for them?

Since we have no idea when she was born, we consider our dog's "birthday" the day we adopted him from the shelter. Usually he gets a special treat after his dinner that he really likes, such as baked chicken (breast meat, no seasoning or oils) and cubes of steamed sweet potato, and a new toy. He absolutely refuses to wear any cute hats or clothes, so that's out. I did once bake him some doggie cupcakes frosted with peanut butter/yogurt mixture, too.

I do!

Before my dog passed, on her birthday we'd get her special treats or a new toy (although the new toy happened more recurringly lol). Maybe take her on an extra walk or an extra long walk. That kind of thing.

And when it was my fish's birthday, I'd sing to him or talk to him, wishing him happy birthday lol

I definitely would if I knew when any of them are... I know a lot of people who do "gotcha day" things, but I am too tired and too sick to do them regularly.

...Actually just occurred to me that I think we just passed Sage's 4th. (She's almost 9 years old now... wow...) And that this will be the first time in nearly a decade that I don't have Boomer here to be my winter solstice bunny (I drove halfway across the state to pick her up as it was getting dark as early as it ever gets).

No. I forget my own birthday half the time. I can't remember the rest of my families birthdays. The only reason I vaguely know my wife's is because it's 8 days before mine. The cats? Forget it.

My kitty was born on November 15th!!! She'll be 15 this year and she is currently sitting on my elbow purring like a truck. I love her more than anything.

I take my dogs for a ride in the morning after they’ve eaten, and get them pupaccinos from Starbucks, which is some whipped cream. After that I just spend the whole day cuddling and playing with them. I work from home, so I usually can’t spend the entire day cuddling, but I always do my work early in the morning on their birthdays so I have the whole day free. And they get a peanut butter treat cake for their birthday cake after they eat dinner.

It’s almost been a year since my oldest dog Beck passed away, so his birthday this year will be the first one without him. I still miss him terribly.

I usually give my bunny some pieces of apple or carrots and maybe buy him a new toy.

As for my dog, I haven't decided yet since I just got him in August but I'll probably buy him some food he likes and a new toy too.

Damn I hate bigger fandoms.
I draw fanart just occasionally and I am not super active, so I don't have a lot of followers especially for my art. So my fanart for bigger fandoms usually goes unseen in the forest of posts and better or funnier fanarts. Frankly that hurts.
