What is your favorite breed of horse?

(Anonymous) 2022-10-22 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Because I guess we're doing this now/

I like the idea of the Akhal-Teke's just for the almost metallic look of their coats.

Clydesdales and Shires because they are huge but friendly.

A friendly Clydesdale will be the closest thing to a dog you'll ever find in a horse, but an evil bastard Clydesdale will be a demon wrapped in a ton of muscle that will make you rue the day horses ever evolved.

Yes!

And at the other end, Shetlands, because they're small and cute and cuddly.

Whoah, just googed Akhal-Tekes, and they're gorgeous!

I don't know a whole lot about horse breeds, but I like Arabians because they have beautiful paces. A neighbor of my parents used to have one, and seeing her gallop around a field was stunning.

The small shaggy ones?

Yes, and they're genuinely wild, or at least Przewalski's Horses are.

Late to the party as usual, but my favorite breed is the Arabian, no contest. I learned to ride on those crazy little horses, and my first horse Sharif was one, too. I had him for twenty years and he was the best friend I've ever had. He was a prissy princess, a scaredy cat, and a treat-thief to boot, but he was as friendly and loving as a horse can be. I miss him so much. T_T It must be said that I do also greatly love Appaloosas, partially for their coats but also because I had an appy named Lucy for a while, too. She wasn't much to look at, but she was smart as a whip and incredibly loyal. She'd do anything for you, provided you had earned her respect. Until you did, however, she was gonna see what she could get away with. One time she scraped one of my friends off under a low tree branch and I almost pissed myself laughing.

Oh, and I also love every single gaited breed. If I'm ever able to have a horse again, it'll pretty much have to be a small gaited horse like a Paso Fino or a Rocky Mountain Horse because of all of my arthritis. Sitting a trot ain't as easy as it used to be, to say nothing of posting.
