Re: What is your favorite breed of horse?

Late to the party as usual, but my favorite breed is the Arabian, no contest. I learned to ride on those crazy little horses, and my first horse Sharif was one, too. I had him for twenty years and he was the best friend I've ever had. He was a prissy princess, a scaredy cat, and a treat-thief to boot, but he was as friendly and loving as a horse can be. I miss him so much. T_T It must be said that I do also greatly love Appaloosas, partially for their coats but also because I had an appy named Lucy for a while, too. She wasn't much to look at, but she was smart as a whip and incredibly loyal. She'd do anything for you, provided you had earned her respect. Until you did, however, she was gonna see what she could get away with. One time she scraped one of my friends off under a low tree branch and I almost pissed myself laughing.

Oh, and I also love every single gaited breed. If I'm ever able to have a horse again, it'll pretty much have to be a small gaited horse like a Paso Fino or a Rocky Mountain Horse because of all of my arthritis. Sitting a trot ain't as easy as it used to be, to say nothing of posting.
