Isn't this the little bitch who was in the affair for a DECADE and when his affair partner found out, she was immediately hospitalised, then felt she had to quit her writing career forever?

Nice selective description OP.

OP - No idea, didn't check any of this in depth. All I know is some paparazzi decided to spread gossip for whatever reason and now we have an unemployed man, an unhappy wife and a hospitalized writer (supposedly - didn't know she was a writer but if she was anonymous there's a lot that could be a lie, like the reasons for being hospitalized: was she mad over being a mistress, did she fake anything, was she mad at the media repercussion or did she have an appendicitis? Who knows?). Dumb marital drama I could care less about. Call me when someone gets convicted or anything of the sort.

She found out from an interview. She was a news writer, IIRC, and found out FROM HIM DOING AN INTERVIEW ELSEWHERE. She fell ill because she found out she was the Other Woman for ten years through a fucking interview.

AYRT (the other very angry person is not me). They worked together. He was in a position of power, concealed his wife from his entire agency, and chose to ruin the other woman's life as collateral damage. "Hospitalised" comes off as Japanese euphemism for "tried to kill herself." Fuck him, and the seiyuu who've recently sparked drama have been some real pieces of shit who've gone above and beyond to spark disgust. Pick your battles. This guy is awful.

Which Seiyuu’s are you speaking of, if you don’t mind me asking? I don’t keep up with any of the lives of seiyuu beyond the roles they play.

AYRT

I don't monitor this stuff obsessively but I do idly follow some English-language industry coverage, because I do panels at a convention and I'm always looking out for stories to squirrel away. The bloke who played Draken in Tokyo Revengers and Makoto in Free! absolutely tanked his career in lockdown after a cheating scandal and he's the one who sprang to mind. The reasons it broke so bad for him weren't immediately clear, but he sent a benchmark for bad behaviour and I think it's why fans are now calling for this other guy's head. The Draken seiyuu:

- used clout to get with a much younger woman iirc (bad look is why I mention this)
- the person he was cheating on was singer LiSA, who spent like the entirety of lockdown at number one. She is eminently more famous and better-liked than him
- while bragging about his career to his baby girlfriend, he leaked plots for upcoming Free! materials, which she then posted online

This is not like Hirano Aya losing her career at its peak for having a boyfriend, this is a couple of real pieces of shit actually facing consequences.

I hadn’t heard about that. That’s pretty scummy behavior.

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it!

(Anonymous) 2022-11-07 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
OP - other than him there was also Nobuhiko Okamoto who cheated on his new wife with a prostitute. A paid professional. Really you can think whatever you want of this kind of behavior, but it has shit to do with his professional work. Or should have shit to do if the idol industry wasn't so crappy.
All of which happened in recent years but there were many more in the past. Tatsuhisa Suzuki only made every headliner because he was married to LiSA so of course that made money for everyone. Not sure about age gap but I think she may have been in her early or mid 20s and he was 35 so not an absurd deal.

Aya Hirano lost her career at its peak because she slept with every guy in her band until one of them got mad/jealous. Which, again, ... big fucking deal. But just like the female seiota get mad over their uwu prince uwu cheating the male seiota get mad over their uwu princess uwu sleeping around. Both of which are pathetic takes really. What the fuck should I have to do with their personal lives? y'all pathetic tbh

OP - Yeah? Sakurai is a popular seiyuu who appears in TV shows and his fans knew he was very likely married. Still seems weird to me that this person would have had an innocent affair for ten years and never suspected any of that. And we haven't even seen this interview. All of this seems v. fishy (not to mention the Su/Alhaitham rumours) but even it's completely true it's still a personal issue I don't care about. Idols' lives are none of my business unless he did anything bad enough that could make someone sue him or get him convicted for instance.

(Anonymous) 2022-11-07 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, especially when it's not at all uncommon for seiyuu to not go public about their marriages or to only do so a few years after they've actually gotten married. Some of them are public about it but some of them prefer to keep their personal lives private.

(Anonymous) 2022-11-07 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
Speaking as a relative outsider, I still don't see how any of that has anything to do with us who don't know any of them personally.
