WTF?

How on earth did Marjorie Taylor Green get reelected? Even apart from her right-wing extremism, which does sadly have its fans, she's a complete conspiracy crackpot and really, really dumb. I can get why right-wing voters would have voted her in the first time. But reelecting her? WTF?

Ugh. I'm going to bed. America, please stop being this stupid. Please. We can be better than this.

Safe seats.

We can, if everyone voted. But this kind of bullshit is what was expected for a midterm year. Still, a part of me was really hoping people were paying attention and were angry enough at the bullshit the Republicans were pulling to push them the fuck out. *sigh* Well, at least some states are doing better. Maybe, at the very least, we've bought ourselves some time. I can only hope, though like you said, we can be better than this.

sa

I don't mean to suggest gerrymandering and voter suppression and other things don't impact voters, but if we had turnout like we had during Federal elections, we could kick out more of these assholes. Lots of old people voting, not enough young.

DA I hope you're right. We've made some gains in MI, at least. Gerrymandering and voter suppression have also added a lot to the problem in GA. It's looking like Kemp is going to win the governorship again, ugh.

A solidly red district, with a lot of ignorant, batshit voters. Also, I suspect that white supremacy and Christian nationalism were also involved.

People who want what stands for probably voted for her in spite of her being an idiot. They're also the kind of people who'd vote for whoever triggers the libs the most, no matter what it costs them.

I mean, given last time, I'm wondering if someone even ran against her for real because she managed to chase the last guy off with threats to his family.
