I’m so sick of Florida!

Having a tropical storm this late in the year is ridiculous, and after Ian already devastated so much of Florida! Nicole is only a tropical storm still, I think. But it might as well be a hurricane.

I’m so fucking freaked out! The first tornado warning for my area just got issued. And there will most likely be more until it passes over my city tomorrow. Not to mention flooding, property damage, and power outages are all possible. I wish I could have evacuated, but Georgia isn’t much better off as far as being out of the cone of the storm, at least that’s what the news said. And I can’t drive much farther because I’m still recovering from a broken leg! And flying isn’t really an option either.

I can’t move to Asheville, NC for my job soon enough! It won’t be perfect. Because no place is. But at least it won’t be Florida!

We're supposed to get the storm tomorrow morning. It's supposed to rain heavy for nine straight hours. I live at the bottom of a street that backs up and floods into my driveway when it's really bad, heavy rain. Seven years ago it rained so hard and heavy for an hour that rainwater was coming up out of my toilet into the bathroom and coming up out of a drain beneath the washer/dryer across from where I sleep (I have an open floor plan down here) because the assholes that built this house cheaply didn't put in a backflow valve, and the storm drains in front of our driveway and down the cross-street were clogged. It was a nightmare but thankfully, we got cleaned up for free courtesy of insurance. Wasn't our fault. We also put in a backflow valve. But I get so fucking anxious every time it rains hard and heavy. :(

I hear ya on all this. Such storms are why I (a Florida native) relicated to Minnesota many years ago.

Yeah it’s definitely not fun. Minnesota is a good state to get away from that kind of weather. I’ve been there before, it was nice.
