And you're assuming that this person isn't talking about an American ad playing in the US because??? Or are you saying that people can't be annoyed about things that happen in their countries unless they're simultaneously happening in every other country in the world? That's just something that works as a simple, shorthand reply in the US. Companies would start emotionally blackmailing and pressuring people to spend money on Christmas gifts from January 2nd on, if we didn't draw the line somewhere, and "this other big holiday that you're bothering us to commemorate with a big family gathering and an elaborate meal" (and god forbid, not spend less money on, because we just skipped directly to Christmas preparations) made a good line.

Because they people saying that are complaining about it when it happens in the US because it’s a relevant and valid complaint there. AYRT’s point stands, you have nothing.
