fic writers that stick to the same themes are my favorite. Posting by chapters is the best way to get feedback. Not sure about the rl details as people usually don't comment on them. Or is it a thing in young fandoms?

Sounds cheaper than therapy too, lmao.

Tbh, I think a lot of people write in their own situations or aspects of it into certain moments of their fic. I only say this because I've read some fics where you can just tell (even if it's not shoehorned into the narrative -- it's just very clear. Sometimes it's a wish fulfillment thing, other times it's what you're describing). In any case, it's fic, and I'm glad it's doing something for you.

that honestly does sound incredibly validating

in some ways i wish i had the openness to write intentionally iddy fic and just really let loose with it

Oh, that sounds validating indeed. Definitely cheaper than therapy. Question: Do you try to keep the characters/ships in character (as possible) or is that not necessary for it to feel good?
Fandom is for fun and hey, bonus if the readers like it.

That sounds like a safe and harmless way to cope while also entertaining yourself and others, and I'm glad it works for you. =) I honestly kind of wish I could do that, hahah.

You know, I bet it also feels good for readers who have had similar problems!

Does having long hiatuses on purpose actually get more attention and not just make people lose interest and move on, because idk about other people but I feel like I'm much more likely to do the latter.

As a reader I don’t mind but I often have to reread the last chapter since I read a lot of fic and don’t recall what happened.

Well, you're a genius. That DOES sound very validating!

Honestly, that does sound super cathartic. Good for you! Maybe I should try that, too.
