Can’t recommend enough Reginal D Hunter’s Songs Of The South. Gorgeous looking show that goes chronologically as well as geographically, showing how genres emerged from one another in their particular social contexts in response to slavery, immigration, the Great Depression, all that stuff. Fab piece of documentary.
