There's nothing wrong with you, you just can't click with a certain relationship dynamic and that's perfectly okay. It's only an issue if you attack other fans that like it, but not liking it yourself? Absolutely fine, perfectly normal, don't stress about it.

Nah, OP you are fine.
You like what you like. You were interested in their dynamic BEFORE discovering they are enemies or that one of them is a villain, so it's only fair that you'd lose interest if you don't particularly like that kind of ships.
I hope you'll still find some enjoyement from that series, but if that's not the case then don't bother and find something else to watch.

Obviously it's up to you but I can't relate because to me villain/hero relationships are great (unless the villain already did something so horrible I feel it's unforgivable. But if it's just a "I don't dig you" thing and they sort it out in bed ... ? yep)

Oh there's nothing wrong with that. It's happened to me a lot when following a story and it suddenly takes a turn which I don't really like or enjoy, so I end up falling out of interest with it entirely. It happens and you shouldn't feel bad about it OP.

You don't have to headcanon them the way they were written. I mean, if you were enjoying the pairing up until it turned out one of the two kicks puppies, you can still poke around for the part of the fandom that likes their chemistry but doesn't like that.

When Death Note was ongoing, there was a huge contingent that shipped the detective and the killer but modified it so the latter actually wasn't guilty of serial murder. If the problem just is that villains don't do it for you, you might not be alone.

Persona 5 fandom has a lot of fix fic where a particular villain reconsiders, because he’s not really evil, just angry. Some of them are pretty good! (I like https://archiveofourown.org/series/914673)

If it’s the villain I’m thinking of it works particularly well for him. I’m not terribly into villain/hero ships but that one I can see easily.

But I get OP. If a dynamic doesn’t work for someone it just doesn’t.

I don't like villain/hero ships too. It makes me often enough uncomfortable to be in fandoms, it's a popular ship dynamic and there is so much you can block.

Your taste is your taste and it is no less valid than anybody else's. I feel like because of antis being A Things, some people have kind of overcompensated in their push back against that and have ended up being kind of judgmental and rude about people who honestly just enjoy wholesome/"healthy" ships. There can sort of be this attitude that's like, "If you don't enjoy X, Y, or Z, then you must be fundamentally conservative in some way, and also boring," which is dumb.

I am not enjoying my wholesome/"healthy" content at anyone. It's just what I like. And like just about everything we do here in fandom, it's as complex and interesting as you want it to be. It's all in the eye of the beholder.

Antis complain when ships are “too wholesome” in your fandoms? I believe you, that’s just different from my fandoms. In my fandoms, villain/hero ships are considered ~problematic~, and they usually get mad when people ship them and anything else that isn’t two good people and isn’t 100% healthy.

No, I think what they're saying is that since antis tried to turn "not shipping anything problematic" into this holier-than-thou moral statement, people who just like gentle, sunshine ships for their own reasons can be self-conscious that other fans will think they like it in a judgey way. And some of the pushback against antis winds up being unintentionally scornful of vanilla shipping. Out of frustration at being demonized, mostly. Anyone who ships hero/villain openly is doing that despite the social shit they get for it. Despite being told that it would be so much BETTER if their favorite thing didn't exist, and lightfic were all that was available. And that makes it hard to maintain the view that what we don't go for (and aren't going to) is not inherently bad, we're just sick of the pushiness. Because you've got jerks trying to argue that enjoying moral complexity and empathizing with dark characters is a sign of mental illness - sometimes in so many words.

I have similar experience.
I am not interested in (reading about) toxic relationships most of the time. I am not into it. It doesn't make me puritan/anti/boring vanilla person. Just I have my preferences and I don't care for people judging me for this
