And the actress (Hailee Steinfeld) literally released a song about this "not like the other girls" trope, so of all characters to stan in this way!

Lol, I heard that song in a store the other day. I had no idea it was her singing. It's kinda lame, but I do actually believe it's sincere, which makes it sort of nice anyway. Like, if I had an eleven-year-old in my life, would I deliberately play it while they were around? Yes, yes I would.

Because you listened to it? If so, that’s understandable. It’s kind of boring to listen to, and very cheesy and lame in that ~inspirational~ song way. I think it can be positive to play for younger people, but for anyone who’s not a tween/teen? Eh not so much. I like the message, but I don’t like the song.

I do like some others by her, but all of her music is pretty much amateurish feel good bubblegum pop. At least from what I’ve heard. It’s funny that she’s such a lackluster singer, not her voice as much as her songs, but she can be such a good actress.
