I like this idea! I can see myself doing this for some hurt/comfort fics that seem excellently written but are just too bleak for me with a long “hurt” portion before they get to any comfort.

idk... Unless you mean dumb fluff, or actual drabbles/fics where there is no relavant plot whatsoever, I really don't see the point.
If you're willing to read something that triggers/squicks you, then read it as the author intended. I've been jump across fandom at lot lately, and while we might not share one of the same, everyone I've come across (for the last few years even) warns both in tags and again with added specifics in their authors notes.

I've been editing my own reads myself for decades now, but I always read chronologically. There's literally no point to miss out on the fundamentals of storywriting, (plot development, world building, character growth/interactions, etc...) just to, what? Spoil yourself four times over?
Like the only reason you read it the wrong way is because you already know what the fic entails. If you're going to waste your time reading something that might possibly upset you, then just read it properly.

I did this all the time with books as a kid/teen. I'd flip over to the end to take sneak peeks, see if my theories are right. I stopped doing it because of HP and the Prisoner of Azkaban. I flipped to the chapter where Lupin and Sirius reveal they're allies and Lupin is a werewolf, was like "haha I'm right" to myself and then read on like I knew what was going to happen. When I got to the end I was blown away at the change of the ending. I was perfect reader to find that book brilliant XD

I think any good story can still be effective even if we are "spoiled" with knowing the ending ahead of time. It's about being drawn into the world and did you enjoy your time there. If that includes knowing the ending even before reading the rest of the story I don't think you are reading it "wrong" :)

Your secret was very entertaining and I got to vicariously enjoy how intensely you re-told the second movie! But I'm not sure why it was such a let-down that the guy wasn't dead? I mean, okay, the plot twist surprised you, but was it a bad idea? But I have not seen either of these movies, so it could be that your explanation had everything that someone would need to know if they were familiar with the canon.

Dude, you backhandedly defended your own investment more than twice before you even bothered getting started. /Of course/ parodies are going to be, by default, controversial. /Especially/ the ones that poke fun about a pop/contro subject in the first place. /Particularly/ when that subject is 'true' crime... Not to mention these dubiously mysterious, ~questionable~, choices the creators deliberately made when producing, that you explicitly dodge to the degree you think you're being subtle.

Hell, you could cut 70% or more outta your whole secret easily, if you thought it out first! Y'know by actually expanding on the only portion of this that \isn't\ a blatant attempt to lure more people into your niche controversial little fandom. Like, about how you refused to call your brother-in-law by his given name for no other reason than a sudden negative fixation on a character called the same thing.

I'd listen to that presentation! I'm surprised BTS didn't get out of it - not because I think the guys are the type to try and dodge, but more because I thought the government would be like, "These guys bring in lots of positive representation and money, lets not put a stop to that."

What things have made you happy recently?


My kitty's new favorite thing is climbing up on my legs and going to sleep. I can feel her purring, warm kitty body, and it is the most comforting thing in this world.

Got some good news for a couple clients today. Also my dad came home from the hospital.

I'm getting a massage and my nails done this saturday, and I feel happy just looking forward to that.
