Re: Old comments/secrets thread
(Anonymous) 2022-12-14 02:43 pm (UTC)(link)But I meant to ask back then but was too late: How does it sound sexy to the OP? Was it the whole song, or because they thought the singer was saying “Jezebel” instead of “Choose the pill”?
I’m not saying it can’t sound sexy. I can imagine it will gain several sexy points when I listen to it while thinking about some of my favorite fics/ships that can fit the lyrics. But they said it was the sexiest song they had ever heard, so I’m just curious about if they’re willing to share why. No problem if they’re not. Just consider this me saying thanks for the recommendation then, because I am happy I checked out it out! :)

(Anonymous) 2022-12-14 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)I'm so glad you checked out and enjoy Carpenter Brut! In regards to why I personally find The Widow Maker so sexy, it's in part because of the singer's voice but also I like to imagine him singing about someone in particular, either out in the audience or in his life. And yeah, I definitely have a particular ship I associate the song with too. Heh. The song's meaning radically changes when 'choose the pill' is misheard as 'Jezebel', the latter adding a more definitively erotic tone to the lyrics, although perhaps not that radically if one watches the official music video interestingly enough. With the ship in question, there's a BDSM angle to the two characters' relationship and Character A calling Character B 'his Jezebel' turns me on. (Both characters are guys and a Jezebel can refer to a sexually shameless woman.)
