But I’m guessing that what they mean by that is that the anon they were replying to didn’t just say they weren’t attracted to men or women. They said they weren’t attracted to men who used to be women. It might be their preference, and nobody should try to change their mind, but it is still discriminatory against trans men specifically. They do at least refer to trans men as men, even though they feel the need to say they “used to be women”. So that’s unnecessary, but still better than misgendering a trans man?

You can say no to sex with anyone you don't want to have sex with based on any criteria you like. You can refuse redheads, baseball fans, Geminis, people who have never been to London, left-handed people, or Freemasons, it doesn't matter because you're never obligated to consent to anyone. OK, so you're not attracted to trans men. Fine. You're not attracted to every cis man you meet either, are you? Just say no thank you.

What makes it transphobic and bigoted is the way you're expressing your feelings about this particular category of men in such a gross way. If you talked like this about how icky fat guys make you feel, I sure as hell would call you fatphobic. You can just not be interested without telling the whole internet that you're disgusted by the thought.

ayrt That's right, I'm not attracted to every cis man. Hell no! And yes, I am allowed to turn down anyone for any reason at all. If I don't want to have sex with a trans man, pre-op or post-op, because they used to be female or still partially are, those are valid reasons whether you like them or not. There are people out there that don't want people that used to be another gender. That is a reality you may not like, but it's there. I am attracted to cis men. You can't call me phobic because I am literally not afraid of trans folx. There are trans people out there screaming DISCRIMINATION! in dating, that people won't date them, but I'm sorry, everybody does that in the dating world no matter who they are. They discriminate about who they're attracted to and who they want to be with. Trans people have a difficult life burden, for sure, but you can't force people to be attracted to/date you either. It reminds me of male incels' arguments.

You are allowed to turn down anyone for any reason at all. That's exactly what I said.

If a trans guy asks you out, you can just say no thank you politely and go on with your life. You are not obligated to date or have sex with anyone you're not attracted to, regardless of gender or genitals. You can also say no to someone because they're the wrong political party or they're a picky eater or they don't like dogs.

But this unhinged rant is doing nothing to convince me you're not a bigot, because the very theoretical idea of a trans guy as a potential theoretical partner is giving you this bizarrely intense emotional meltdown. Do you really think there are that many trans men out there who are desperately into you? Have you ever even met a trans man, much less been pressured by one?

Comparing trans people to male incels is not only a completely incorrect comparison not based in reality, but it’s very telling of what an ignorant bigot you actually are. Incels are obviously completely different from trans people, and are almost always transphobic too. Unlike TERFs who claim to be feminists but still cozy up to right-wing fascists just because they share the same hatred of trans people, trans people and incels have no such relationship. Trans people hate incels because incels are far right/alt right bigots who hate the idea of consent or equality, and are okay with violence against people they don’t like. You really showed how much you don’t know what you’re talking about with that comparison.

Nobody thinks you should be forced to sleep with someone you don’t want to, and you’re responding to someone who said as much like you didn’t even bother to read or comprehend what they said. Trans people, don’t want to sleep with you either, because transphobes are gross.

That’s not their argument at all, you’re being willfully obtuse. They’re saying it’s fine to have any kind of preferences you want when it comes to people you want to date or not, and that includes it being fine to not want fat people. But while it’s fine to not want fat people, it is still fatphobic to not want them purely because they’re fat. It would be ableist to not want to date anyone who is autistic, but it’s still your right to have that preference, and nobody is trying to or should take that away from you. That’s what they’re saying.

There’s nothing wrong with having sexual preferences. And the majority of trans people know and agree with that, because they do too. You’re only transphobic and a bigot because you’re asking this question which is straight out of the TERF/right-wing playbook which pretends the answer you’ll get will likely be anything than the first sentence I gave you. Because TERFs and the right wing assert, completely incorrectly, that cis people are being forced to have sex with trans people they don’t want to have sex with, and are called transphobes just for stating that they’re not interested. The only reason anyone would call you a transphobe in that scenario is if you aren’t attracted to trans people simply because they’re trans. It’s like people who are called racist for saying they’re not attracted to black people. It might be true, but it is what it is. If you're attracted to women then you're attracted to women. A trans woman 's body is not the same as a cis woman's body both pre and post surgery. That there is valid reason enough to not be attracted to trans women, and nobody should be being called a goddamn transphobe for what is a matter of biological attraction.

What world do you live in where dating doesn't come with a period of compatibility-testing no matter the combination? Like, I have to disclose a lot of things at the start of a potential relationship, and physical stuff usually comes up at some point--allergies, for example, or later on sexual wants/needs in general, any number of which can be a personal deal-breaker. Some women I want do date might disclose past gender identification, and some might disclose that they hate cats. One of those would be a deal breaker for me in the dating process, personally, but you don't see me raging online against dog owners.
