Is it fetish porn? Part of what might make it good is because a lot of fetishists are *very* passionate about their fetish - you may be picking up on their enthusiasm for the subject matter through their writing. There's a degree of skill involved with writing convincing fetish material too; if you can write decent porn, chances are you can write decent plot.

Ty for putting this into words! I've been reading fetish stuff exclusively the past year, and honestly I do get impressed sometimes with the writing in them. I believe fetish writing requires a lot more description about the vibes, the feelings involved, and the conflict between mind and body. I think a lot of fetish authors also realize that their fetish involves horror and drama elements as well, so they get better at writing those themes too. At least it has in my own experience.
