For the past couple of years I really got into smut quiting in my fandoms and I first started out using "cock" a lot/almost exclusively.

After a handful of fics and reading around, I kind of became aware of the repetition of the word "cock" feeling too same-y.
It's a lot like when I realized I kept using the word "eyes" when describing a moment between two characters.

I rely heavily on the word "cock" but these days I try to be mindful of using it where I feel it to be most effective.

Like, the word "dick" I personally don't really like to describe a penis, but if a certain character is someone who I believe likes that word, I will use it, either as a descriptor in the character's head from their POV or I will have them say it in conversation.

My go-to euphemisms are usually: cock, member, stick, rod, manhood (but used mostly in history romance pieces I write), meat
