Re: The year is almost over

Hit an average of 7 miles a day for the year again. I managed it once, and I managed it most days this year, but not enough to hit the average, especially not since I took chunks of time off walking for exercise at all, like when I caught covid.

Also I dunno, I'll be 40 this coming year and I've never managed it, but maybe 2023 is the year I finally get a diagnosis/handle on my executive dysfunction so I can do stuff like clean my fucking house. Of course, that's only if my slug brain is caused by ADHD and not one of the many, many other things it might be, and also that I get a) prescribed meds and b) they actually work.

It's hard because I have a house and a full time job and pay my bills on time, so even though I'm also a slob and hoarder and anxious mess, I'm not seen as bad off enough to need immediate help.

And being told to call back in a month to schedule my first psych appointment three months after that, because everyone needs help and there aren't enough therapists or appointments, is hell with the aforementioned executive dysfunction. I tried for something like nine or ten months to get an appointment after my initial eval, and no dice.

Everything was always full by the time I got through, and they'd say to call back when the next bookings opened in three months. And that was pre-covid, I'm sure the therapist shortage and number of people who need help is worse now.

Also ffs I need to fix my sleep schedule! Staying up until (or waking up at!) 4:00 am is not compatible with my full time job, especially since my new work schedule will have me coming in at 9:00 am every day and not just half the week.

Felt that. Best of luck.
