I thought Monstrous Regiment was worse. The way he describes the Sergeant character with continued focus on their weight and body shape was really offputting.

The Sergeant was based on a real person. Who yes, was really, noticeably that fat, and also a v. capable soldier.

So... possibly the opposite of fat-shaming?
