Alienation and the anger it causes are things lots of people can empathize with, and critics are just being dense when they say it's some white guy power fantasy exclusive reason that makes these characters popular. I'd love more non-white male characters like this. Not only because anyone can be that kind of person, but also so we can stop pretending these characters are only popular because they're white men. It's a popular character type that happens to mostly be given to white men, don't be surprised when people think they're more interesting than the wholesome POC and/or female hero who always does the right thing and responds to traumatic experiences like a "good" victim.
