Ears ringing, not personally.

But if I'm attracted to someone, kissing can lead to arousal (which to some people could feel like body burning I guess).

Basically, all the bodily metaphors in romance novels to do with kissing/sex etc are about arousal. So just copy replace what arousal means to you and it should make more sense.

Personally, I never felt anything like that until I actually kissed someone I felt attracted to. Without that, kissing is a bit gross to me.
