I ship son/father incest in that order, where the son is the one banging the father like a screen door in a hurricane. It's the forbidden aspect, and the fact that it works so well with the failings of both characters - the father abandoned the child in a moment of cowardice and regretted it for the rest of his life. The son grew up feeling unloved and unlovable and could easily be spun into a 'wanting revenge' type deal and I just love fucked up shit so much that I ship it. People also write the father with HIS father sometimes and I can totally see that having been canon if the series had been darker so I will read that too but I don't ship it, I just love the fucked-up power dynamics and abuse.

"banging the father like a screen door in a hurricane" is now part of my fandom vocabulary. I am going to say this to my friends incessantly.
