What have you been really getting into lately? Any great fic? Any new OTPs? Please tell me all of your feelings about them

I recently watched Star Wars: The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi and oh boy do I get where the Reylo Shippers came from. I'm not going to get that passionate about it but they do have an interesting dynamic and I will probably read some fics once I watched Rise of Skywalker (spoilers!).

I also watched Leverage: Redemption. It is better than I expected.

I'm currently reading Mhalachai's Hour of the Wolf (https://archiveofourown.org/works/18980413/chapters/45068215) and I like it.

Reylo is absolutely a great, great dynamic. Especially in TLJ. I don't particularly ship it because I'm just not that into Adam Driver. But as a ship, it completely makes sense why people would be obsessed with it. The enmity, the guilt, the space for atonement, the force magic side of it... it's delicious.

I wasn't into Driver's looks either and side-eyed the people who call him hot but his appearance on Last Week Tonight and a few other tidbits about him that floated past me on my dash made me like him as a person, and now he doesn't look so weird anymore (if that makes sense).

Oh yeah, personally I don't think he's ugly or anything! He's good looking and a very good actor. Just not my type personally (TBH my type is Oscar Isaac) (actually that's kind of an interesting hypothetical - if they flipped the casting of Poe and Kylo, I wonder which would have ended up being the bigger ship, would it still be Reylo or would Rey/Poe be the juggernaut...)

My money would still be on (Isaac-)Reylo. I suspect fans twigged onto the power dynamics of the classic tropey romance – the simple maiden seduced against her will by the powerful dark CEO with a tragic past. Driver is hot because Kylo is Christian Grey, if that makes sense.

You seem to know your way around. Do you have any fic recs? :D

I never got into Reylo (prefer m/m, stumbled into Kylux..) but I've been soo bored lately... maybe I should go fic browsing >:)

Not a Reylo shipper but was super into Kylo Ren fics for a while. I wish Reylo readers a lot of fun, found that ship full of great writers!

I got way into Kylo/Hux to ever really enjoy Reylo, though I do enjoy the occasional fic with all three of them. But I totally do get where shippers are coming from, and I think it is a great ship.

I recently gave in and played Fire Emblem Warriors 3 Hopes and now I ship Edelgard and Claude like burning

No OTP or fics, but thanks to people here reccing and WAP anon I've listened to and watched bootlegs of the Great Comet. It's indeed is really gorgeous and quirky and I am sad there is no proshoot. Still don't really care for the plot.
But thanks to that I've learned that I vibe greatly with Malloy's works. So I've been obsessing.

I do want some shipping fandom though, but I am not lucky on this front right now.

Only tangentially related to your comment, but man, WAP anon's decision to abbreviate the title for all their threads is truly the gift that keeps on giving. Bless you, WAP Anon. It is a fine and noble title and you should wear it with honor. *nods somberly*

playing Persona 4 Golden again has gotten me back into Souji/Yosuke and I’m desperate for good fic

Ugh, I will never forgive them for removing Yosuke as a romance option. It's so good.

I've been enjoying Lockwood and Co. and planning on reading the books after I finish the show. I find the setting fascinating and need more ghost cases.

The comic Lavender Jack on webtoon has been really good for me. The characters, the dialogue, and the story itself is enthralling! I've been very slowly reading my way through the final arc because I don't want to end yet.

I've been bouncing off of fic that I've tried recently, I think just one of those times where what I'm most fannish about doesn't have fic so other fandoms don't quite fulfill it.

Watched all of "The Sex Lives of College Girls" on HBO Max last weekend and loved it. All the characters are so good (especially the supporting cast). Leighton/Alicia is my new OTP, and I'm hoping to write a fic about them soon for Femslash February. :D
