My attitude towards superheroes is the same as my attitude towards Dungeons and Dragons-style adventurers. If you try to create a plausible setting where it makes sense that they exist, you'll end up with some kind of dystopia. But I find it more appealing when it doesn't try to make sense and just leans into the stupid.

The moment people start asking ‘how can we make a dragon work Realistically’ they miss the point of fantasy, it’s not meant to be realistic it’s meant to be fun and anything that doesn’t lean into that is boring as fuck.

Yup. Although, Batman, at least, doesn't have superpowers except his wealth. So he can kind of be made to be believable, though even the Dark Knight trilogy did at least get close to dystopia.
