How, exactly?

Is someone forcing you to read it? Is there a reason you can't scroll past it (or just put '-Reader' in the Search within results box for AO3)? Do you think that if it didn't exist other kinds of fic would?

Yeah as someone who heavily dislikes Reader/YN fic (mostly because my brain just cannot get over seeing 'Y/N' or 'Reader' and actually enjoy the story), just... don't read it?

Like, it's highly unlikely the people churning out reader fic are gonna magically pic another pairing if you ban it from existing.

Yeah if you couldn't do "-reader" it would be really annoying, because there's a ton of it so it's a bother to scroll by, and it's inconsistently tagged so you can't easily filter

But.... you can do "-reader". so I just do that.

You can do -reader on AO3. Also you have to do - character/reader, another chatacter/reader, character/oc, character/you, you, y/n. Because most of reader authors don't tag properly. Ever.
And then you go on tumblr/twitter/discord and there are more reader stuff. And y/n stuff. And you can't block it properly because reader is a normal fucking word. And fans also don't tag properly there. And with y/n you also block normal phrases like day/night. So yes readers part of fandom is really frustrating. And you can't just block them.

I think on AO3, if you do -"reader" in the Search Within Works bar, I think it should at least catch all of the different ship permutations and such.

Still does suck on Tumblr, though.

Oh, thanks, I will try it!

Well, at least tumblr doesn't have limit on blocking people. It's been easier to do that. *shighs*
