Yeahhhh, his hair loss is getting pretty noticeable now as well.

OHHHHHH I GET IT! Harry sounds like Hairy in some accents! It absolutely doesn't in mine, I was thinking this was a deep take on Henry VIII or something.

(Anonymous) 2023-04-04 05:24 pm (UTC)(link)
In what accent are Harry and hairy not homophones?

(Anonymous) 2023-04-04 06:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Most English accents.

What makes it funnier is that the guy on the right isn't called Harry either. His name is Henry. Harry is just a nickname.

(Anonymous) 2023-04-04 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
So his name is Henry but he's.... called Harry?

(Anonymous) 2023-04-04 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
Harry is a traditional nickname for Henry. Harry Potter's first name is also Henry. Why? Idk. British people are weird.

(Anonymous) 2023-04-04 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. I was making fun of the fact that the response was that "the guy on the right isn't called Harry either". But he IS literally called Harry....

(Anonymous) 2023-04-04 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
Harry Potter's first name is also Henry. WTF are you talking about?

(Anonymous) 2023-04-04 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
Lmao right, just proudly stating fanon as canon. Harry Potter's name is Harry Potter. It's not a nickname.

(Anonymous) 2023-04-04 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
Lol no way the heir was ever going to be Henry. Absolutely no one wants Henry IX.

(Anonymous) 2023-04-04 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
I mean LOL and all that but if Harry inherited the throne, he'd definitely choose another regnal name.

(Anonymous) 2023-04-04 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
TBF people said the same thing about Charles, didn't they?

(Anonymous) 2023-04-04 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
They did, though Charles II is not a bad role model! Very popular, very sexy.

(Anonymous) 2023-04-04 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
Well, the other Charles wasn't exactly great, though. So, you've gotta a 50% shot I guess.

(Anonymous) 2023-04-04 06:14 am (UTC)(link)
I think the aversion to the name Charles might be the whole getting beheaded thing. I always heard that the name was considered bad luck.

(Anonymous) 2023-04-04 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
Eh, people always said it could go either way, which is just... reality. "Charles" might have some colorful history as a name, but the guy was 73 years old when he became king, it wasn't out of the question that he'd just stick with his own name.

(Anonymous) 2023-04-04 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
I mean, Henry VII and VIII weren't the heirs either! Henry VII had a very, very dubious claim on the throne but won the war, Henry VIII had an older brother.

(Anonymous) 2023-04-04 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
You really have to respect Henry VII for what an absolute conniving shit he was

(Anonymous) 2023-04-04 06:13 am (UTC)(link)
My biggest props go to him marrying Elizabeth of York. Because yeah Henry XII's claim was through battle for the most part and super dubious, but if we accept that the Princes in the Tower were murdered before Richard III's death, England's lack of Sallic Law made Elizabeth the rightful Queen Regent, not the Queen Consort she had to settle for. Anyway through her Henry XIII's claim was pretty rock-solid.

(Anonymous) 2023-04-04 05:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Wait, who were the other 5 Henrys?

Anyway yeah Henry VII knew all the angles. He was a sharp one. You'd have to get up pretty early to get a jump on him.

(Anonymous) 2023-04-04 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
Nobody here has said it yet so I guess it's my duty: abolish the monarchy

(Anonymous) 2023-04-04 05:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Nah, you guys deserve it.
