Yeah, cruelty to cats in movies or shows (played for laughs) usually involves the cat spinning on something and screaming/yowling the way cats do, when it goes flying. Imo, the reason I've laughed as a kid was because the cat was always alright in the end. Like they show the cat landing on all four paws and walking away. However as a kid, anything being "yeeted" out a window was hilarious.

That’s the only way I would laugh at that as a kid too. It would be funny to me only if I saw the cat safety land. Otherwise, I would get legitimately worried or upset about it.
