Not to state the obvious, but AYRT doesn't actually have to be friends with the person who thinks fictional animal cruelty is funny, but only if they're hurting cats. No one's calling the cops or Sarah McLachlan on them. They're just pointing out that their sense of humor sucks.

OP can object to peoples' sense of humor and the fact that they think fictional animal cruelty is funny

But thinking that fictional animal cruelty is funny has nothing to do with their attitude towards animals in real life

Sorry but disagree.
Thinking that fictional animal cruelty is funny has everything to do with OPs attitude towards animals- cats in particular, in real life.
OP specifically signalled out cruelty to cats as being fine to laugh at.

I'll point out, OP maker of this secret, that there are far more memes/internet videos etc of cats than dogs on the net, which shows people really do love their kitties! (Not to compare cats and dogs as you are. Both are great!)

I would also consider OP what others have already written, that cats are usually associated with the feminine, while dogs with the masculine, so when you're laughing at a cat being kicked, consider the symbolism.

I'm currently glad my kitty is in with me safe from people like OP.
