Maybe people here are more optimistic than I am. Personally, I remember what I was like when I was 19 years old, and I remember who I was dating (or not dating) and where we were in life and... good god, I can't imagine getting married at that age and it NOT ending in disaster. I wasn't even the irresponsible, immature type of young person. I just wasn't ready for long term commitment and adult responsibilities like a marriage. Hell, that's not even old enough to graduate college yet and people change so much in their twenties.

I'm old, though. So I've got the benefit of hindsight.

Yeah, but "disaster" here is pretty mild. They don't have kids, their families are well-off and can support them, they're not harming anyone by having an engagement or even marriage at that young but adult age. Sure, people change a lot, but they can either mature together or split up and mature apart, neither of these are a big deal. Also, she's been a working professional for a decade or so already, which is probably going to make her more mature than your average 19 year old (and no, I don't think that's a good thing.)
