It's sad, but some women are so starved for male approval and attention that they'll stab other women in the back for it, make up all sorts of excuses for the awful men they stan for, etc. And for what? The selective attention of some hairless scrotum dudebro who hates women? It fair boggles the mind.

(Anonymous) 2023-05-12 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
This.

(Anonymous) 2023-05-12 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Sad thing is, all the nazi moid like tate and trump and shapiro wouldn't hesitate to call women like your aunt "ugly old used-up cunts" and the women still lap that shit up and call it ice cream. Self-hatred/internalized misogyny is a hell of a drug, and there's no convincing them otherwise.

(Anonymous) 2023-05-12 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Oops, sister, not aunt. My point still stands tho. :-/

OP

(Anonymous) 2023-05-12 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
='( I know. It hurts me so much to see her and women like her hate and blame other women for their suffering/misfortunes, and then turn around and cry that their husband isn't loving enough. And then refuse to leave when he does extremely selfish awful things.

Internalized misogyny is a hell of a drug.

(Anonymous) 2023-05-12 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Unfortunately, some degree of self-loathing and internalized misogyny comes with the territory re: female conservative fundamentalist Christians. It can't be otherwise.

(Anonymous) 2023-05-12 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
But it's frustrating, because he doesn't share any of their other values. He sells women doing sex acts, he has multiple women at once, AND he's a Muslim...

(Anonymous) 2023-05-12 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
And yet... conservative fundamentalists also show a lot of support for Trump, which doesn't make sense for very similar reasons.

(Anonymous) 2023-05-13 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
There's a famous line about the definition of conservatism: "there must be an in-group whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect."

In other words - the intellectual logic of conservatism is not really about consistency or the universal character of moral law. In practice those things are ad-hoc, after-the-fact rationalizations. The logic of conservatism is that there is a group of people who are good and superior and Belong, who benefit from the law but don't actually have to obey it because we all know they're The Right Sort Of Person, and a group of people who are bad and immoral and should be punished whether or not they're guilty of anything because they're The Wrong Sort Of People.

It's a defense of a hierarchical social order, where some people are on top by virtue of their superior social status and birth and nature. And they get to command and benefit from the lower classes, who are below them because of their inferior social status and birth and nature. That's the actual moral logic of conservatism. The fact that Andrew Tate doesn't obey the nominal precepts of social conservatism doesn't matter because he isn't supposed to have to - he's a strong man so what he does is right and moral. Similarly, that Trump is a flagrantly immoral cheater, philanderer, fraud, thief etc doesn't matter because it's fundamentally OK for him to do all of those things. It's aristocracy, it's casteism, it's classism, it's hierarchy, it's authoritarianism - it's all of those things - that's the core of social-moral conservatism in actual practice.

I kept trying to upvote this comment like I'm on Reddit or something. Well said.

Sounds like a typical religious man, tbqh. They are ALL hypocritical pieces of shit.

(Anonymous) 2023-05-12 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a self soothing mechanism.

In most societies women, especially women who have been raised/live in conservative areas, don't have a lot of power. The women who do things like this are intensely afraid, and, as a way of making themselves seem like they have power, they have to victim blame: You wore something bad, so getting assaulted was your fault. I would NEVER wear something like that, therefore it CAN'T happen to me. (it can't, right???)

Oh, men look down on women and are bad to them? Well, I'll support these men who seem to have power so they know I'm not one of THOSE women and they won't abuse me. Because I'm upholding the power structure, so I get more power relative to other women (and can also abuse people beneath me as an outlet for my fear and rage at being considered sub-human).

Leopards are going around eating faces! If I help the leopard, it won't eat MY face.

^This.

(Anonymous) 2023-05-13 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
Sadly, yep.

(Anonymous) 2023-05-13 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
Isn't he in some very hot legal water for trafficking women as sex slaves?

(Anonymous) 2023-05-13 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
Yep, he's under house arrest after being held in jail in Romania for 3 months or so. Look at his pictures from then, he aged 25 years in those months and its funny as fuck!

(Anonymous) 2023-05-13 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
It IS funny.

I'm convinced part of Andrew Taint's appeal to boys and men is that he gets women despite being incredibly ugly. Of course, it's because he's rich.

I'm the sort of person who honestly finds beauty in everyone. I wouldn't have said this if this guy was a cheerful, kind yogi or something. His attitude is what makes him so fucking hideous.

(Anonymous) 2023-05-13 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
He's not that ugly and he gets women by being a human trafficker

(Anonymous) 2023-05-13 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
I also wonder if some women end up buying his spiel because after he spouts off his inflammatory remarks he'll say something more agreeable that people won't be so quick to brush off. While this tactic is intended to lure men into his get rich quick program (thanks for the insight, Coffeezilla!), I wouldn't be surprised if it ensnared some women along the way.

(Anonymous) 2023-05-13 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
So gross and so depressing. I'm sorry OP.

(Anonymous) 2023-05-13 01:55 pm (UTC)(link)
If only being a member of a marginalized group *actually* provided us with more morality/empathy/kindness. Misogynists can be any gender, any sex, and by heavens it sucks.

Also, some people are fucking stupid. Just actual 13 year old boy brains inside of grown adults. Absolutely wild.

My mother was like this about Trump. I still feel hurt over some of her comments and reactions to things during the 2016 election, and things since. She's the same as your sister regarding religion and all.
