What is everyone doing this weekend?

I am going to be avoiding any drama that my younger sister always brings around. Other than that, not much. Maybe restart Breath of the Wild so I can beat it by the end of 2024.

Its a Native American celebration featuring dances, music, food, arts and crafts, and spirituality. The people wear their finest clothes and dance for the good of all humanity: it's believed that dancing is like prayers and good will for everyone, a kind of healing for the earth and all life on it. Its just a really happy, positive celebration of Native American culture.

Might meet up with my friend tomorrow. She did invite me to sleepover with her other friends to watch Eurovision, but that show's not really my thing so I'm just going to hang out with her during the day instead.

Also experimenting with some fake tattoos I got for a cosplay event at the end of the month just to make sure that I'm not allergic or how long they'll stay on for. Otherwise I'm gonna go without.

Continuing bashing out the chainmail and trying to make progress in FFXIV, but ALSO I need to decide what I'm taking to ACen next weekend, and make sure I know where all of it is and that nothing has happened to it since last time I wore it. (My basement has occasionally had various issues, some of which I only found out about when I realized a costume had been rendered unwearable by one.)

Mostly they're hung up, but some of them are large (or have huge props) and kind of mascot/fursuit style, so the storage has to get creative and sometimes there's really nothing to do but lean it against the wall/put it on the floor in the corner.

Playing Tears of the Kingdom in between painting the guest room and helping a friend move across town. Summer term starts on Monday so I need to do a little pre-study now that my textbooks finally arrived today.

Playing in our semi-annual Lord of the Rings LARP. I picked Denethor so I can sit and guard Gondor all day (my knee is not up for full-day hiking this game) and decided my joke costume would be The Dude, or Dudethor if you will. Made a fake bowling ball "palantir" and stuck a Minas Tirith patch on my bathrobe. I'm so set.

I'm too tired for exciting, I'll settle for amusing. At the very least, a good day with old, old friends. But who knows? Some upstart evil wizard might send someone to try to sack Gondor, and there I'll be, worth triple points in my lawn chair. That'll be fun.

Local indie movie theater is doing a mini-festival of recently restored queer films as an "early Pride Month" type thing. REALLY looking forward to this one Austrian film from the early 90s that NEVER got English subtitles before this restoration - the description is basically "trashy sci-fi space lesbians" and that is so up my alley.
