Kinda related to 6-

How would you go about adjusting puzzle difficulty in an old-school point and click adventure?

Uhh, some games has difficulty settings then (Monkey Island 3 comes to mind … )

Lower difficulty -> more clues

It really depends on the type of puzzle you're talking about, I think?

ayrt

Trying for a variety- I don't want to rely too heavily on inventory puzzles, but a lot of the other 'classics' tend to not be particularly well liked, (Sliding boxes much?) or have to be integrated carefully as to not stand out.

But mainly inventory, dialogue, and logic.

While increased sign posting -will- help, as mentioned above, it's not a universal solution, as occasionally pass/fail will affect story route.

I am trying to include some obvious solutions, but that risks assuming the player has said 'obvious' knowledge and can end up hitting moon logic.

As well, different people can find different -types- of puzzles difficult, so accommodating all of them would require a settings menu like Celeste's.

If there's any sort of time element - more or less time

More or less power-ups available

Walkthroughs available (or not) for certain parts

Ability to skip puzzles or not
