Late 20th century? American Pie came out in 71, and all the supposed events referenced occurred in a 10-12 year period before then (if we ignore that the singer later said most of them were fictional). So I don't see how the song would be confusing to archaeologists in particular.

I have read some truly amazing DA fic and I'm not even in the fandom. It's one of those sources that I've dived into because of a trusted author or reccer* and have not regretted it. However I looked into the fandom at large for myself and yeah, the player character stuff is awkward as heck.

*I miss rec lists and journals that routinely recced fandom stuff. I always found the best things through friends that just routinely made rec lists. Maybe they're still around, I"m not really in fandom much these days but I haven't seen them much in my brief looks.

What's the last game you played that had the kind of protagonist you're looking for?

I'm not familiar with this game (and my gaming is of the filthiest of casuals) so I'm curious as to what gives it away/"Character A is clearly the villain, Protagonist!". I'm not terribly familiar with games that have that story line THAT clear

I have tried to read this book several times and just could not get into it. I finally gave up and read the summaries online and yeah, I don't feel like those are for me even though everyone and their sister is raving about the series.

I roll my eyes at people whining about game difficulty in the first place. I grew up on platformers like Mario and Sonic, which were absolutely unforgiving in terms of difficulty. You messed up, you died. You died too many times, game over.

These days games are about a thousand times easier what with the ability to save your game any time you want and retry boss fights/levels if you die, multiple difficulty levels, etc. How dare some games want to be an actually challenging experience.
