I have a friend who is ace and gay and doesn't want queer pairings to have sex because he identifies with them and finds it comforting to think they could possibly be like him/wants them to be like him, while he doesn't care either way whether het pairings have sex or not because he already feels like they're so different than him that it doesn't matter. (At least this is how he explained it to me when he got accused of being homophobic for not wanting his queer ship to have sex.)
On the other hand, I'm aroace and don't want any pairings to have sex, regardless of gender.
But of course if a straight person is all about het pairings having sex but not queer ones, then, yeah, I'd find it questionable.
